From the night his parents took him, on his eighth birthday, to see the musical Oliver! on Broadway, Larry Rosen knew theater would always be a part of his life. By the time he completed high school, Larry had already taken-on some of the theater’s greatest roles, including Tevye in Fiddler On The Roof and Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.

Soon after graduating from Rutgers, where he studied with such notable actors as Avery Brooks and David Margulies, Larry started his performing career working in children’s and regional theater. He also continued his studies under the guidance of Kenneth McMillian, Austin Pendleton, and many other respected actors and teaching artists.

Life in LA in the 1980s introduced Larry to the worlds of improv and sketch comedy. Inspired and guided by the likes of Off The Wall’s Andy Goldberg and the legendary Groundlings – and later by Groundlings founder Gary Austin – he created and performed in multiple improv and sketch shows, developing a specialty in musical improv, which he went on to teach in LA and NYC.

In 2009 Larry discovered personal storytelling, beginning an affiliation with The Moth that continues to this day. In addition to performing in live shows, he teaches regularly throughout the US and in parts of Africa and India and hosts periodic episodes of the popular Moth Podcast.
